The Election Commission of India is making efforts to simplify the voter identification and registration process for people with disabilities (PwDs) by providing them tailored services. Through a new initiative, PwDs can submit their necessary information to the Election Commission using dedicated phone service numbers or a specially developed app that is readily downloadable on their android devices.

For availing any electoral services, first-time voters are required to disclose their name, address, and mobile number, in addition to details about their State, District, and Assembly Constituency. On the other hand, registered voters need to furnish their EPIC number located on the top of their voter ID card. Subsequently, a booth level officer will arrange a home visit to complete the remaining formalities. Shortly after, the Voter ID cards will be sent to their residence.
